The scholarship application has closed. We are no longer accepting applications. Scholarship award notifications will be sent After May 31, 2019.

USCA OPTION A AND B SCHOLARSHIPS

A limited number of scholarships will be available.  Though all staff members, directors and volunteers who meet the above criteria are invited to apply, only one scholarship per agency will be awarded. Scholarships are awarded based on application responses, financial need, geographic distribution and population(s) served.

Scholarship applicants can select from either:

Option A Scholarship covers:

  • USCA Registration only (value $595)

Option B Scholarship covers:

  • One (1) USCA Registration,
  • Four (4) nights at the conference hotel and,
  • $100 gift card towards travel. (appx. Value $1,564)

Information provided on your submission is NOT confidential and will be shared with a committee that reviews all applications.

Scholarship recipients who qualify for Option B will receive the travel subsidy on site at the conference registration.  NMAC will make a hotel reservation for each Option B scholarship recipient for the four nights, checking in on September 4 and checking out on September 8, 2019. Any additional nights to the reservation are the recipient’s responsibility to secure and pay. Upon check-in recipients will need to provide a credit card to guarantee incidentals.

The deadline to apply for an Option A or Option B scholarship is Friday May 17, 2019, 5:00 PM PT.

HIV50+ STRONG & HEALTHY SCHOLARSHIPS

NMAC is pleased to announce the 2019 USCA HIV50+ Strong & Healthy scholarship program. Scholarships will be awarded to HIV peer educators and service providers who work with aging (50 and older), HIV+ populations. Candidates must be affiliated with a community-based organization, healthcare provider, health departments or support group that works directly with aging, HIV+ populations. Geographic diversity of scholars is important and the program has a special focus on the South and urban regions where HIV disproportionately impacts aging, HIV+ communities of color. Scholarships are open to U.S. residents only. 

NMAC will award 50 scholarships with a limit of one scholarship per agency.
The HIV50+ scholarship covers:

  • One (1) USCA Registration,
  • Four (4) nights at the conference hotel
  • A coach ticket flight to Washington, DC
  • Per diem

ViiV Youth Initiative

The Youth Initiative is sponsored by NMAC in collaboration with ViiV Healthcare,  and Advocates for Youth. It develops future leaders among a cadre of Youth Scholars to take action to end HIV/AIDS in their communities via educational training, professional development, and networking opportunities. Scholars will also have opportunity to attend the US Conference on AIDS (USCA) September 5-8 in Washington, DC.

The scholarship covers:

  • One (1) USCA Registration,
  • Four (4) nights at the conference hotel
  • A coach ticket flight to Washington, DC

NMAC will make a hotel reservation for each Youth Initiative scholarship recipient for the four nights, checking in on September 4 and checking out on September 8, 2019. Any additional nights to the reservation are the recipient’s responsibility to secure and pay.

The deadline to apply for a ViiV Youth Initiative scholarship is Saturday, March 30, 2019, 5:00 PM PT.

Social Media Fellowship

NMAC is pleased to announce the 2019 USCA Social Media Fellowship program. Fellowships will be awarded to seasoned and up-and-coming social media mavens who use their platforms to esteem the lived experiences and needs of people living with HIV. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment and expertise of social media OR have an interest in honing their skills on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) to address the HIV epidemic. Fellowship recipients are open to U.S. residents only.

All accepted fellowship recipients will receive:
One (1) USCA Registration,
Four (4) nights at the conference hotel
A coach ticket flight to Washington, DC

Please note fellowship recipients will NOT receive a stipend. NMAC will make a hotel reservation for each Fellowship recipient for the four nights, checking in on September 4 and checking out on September 8, 2019. Any additional nights to the reservation are the recipient’s responsibility to secure and pay. Upon check-in, recipients will need to provide a credit card to guarantee incidentals.
